<p>Cleansing and detergent compsns. contain a finely-divided water-insoluble synthetic crystalline Al silicate having compsn. 0.7-1.1 Cat2O. 1.0 Al2O3. 1.3-2.4 SiO2. 0.5-5 H2O (I) (where Cat is an alkali-, esp. Na cation, exchangeable with Ca- and Mg ions), as phosphate-substitute, for bonding water-hardeners, and also >=1 washing and cleansing substance. The improvement comprises using (I) prepd. from kaolin, by aq. alkaline treatment of kaolin destructurised by calcination. W.r.t. anhydrous substance, (I) consists of (A) 50-100 wt.% particles having crystal structure identifiable by interference lines of X-ray diffraction diagram (in A): 12.4, 8.6, 7.0, 4.1, 3.68, 3.38, 3.26, 2.96, 2.73, 2.66, and of (B) 0-50 wt.% particles having crystal structure identifiable by interference lines of X-ray diffraction diagram (in angstrom) 6.36, 4.44, 3.72, 2.92, 2.70, 2.56. Compsns. can be used for washing and cleansing solid materials, including wooden, plastic, metal, ceramic and glass containers, furniture, floors, polished surfaces and esp. textiles and dishes. The Ca bonding capacity of (I) used is 100-185 mg CaO/g anhydrous material, at 20-90 degrees C. Prepn. takes place without formation of diluted mother liquors, requiring concn. Prods. may contain >2000 ppm Fe, fixed as Fe oxide in Al silicate lattice.</p> |
