The ordering system for restaurants or cafes eliminates the necessity of calling the waiter, as well as facilitates the transfer of food from the kitchen to the table. Each table is indicated by its number and has a digital ordering unit where the customer depresses the required numbers corresponding to his selection. The signals from the ordering unit are transmitted to an indicator table of the kitchen management, and the portions from the kitchen are then placed on the transfer container. At the same time, each placement of items from the order is accompanied by a cancellation signal on the display and by feeding the cash register. The completion of the order is announced by pressing a button which starts the blinking signal on the transfer container.
