In a cutter head for maching wood and plastic, the support disc for with has a series of outwardly open recesses in its peripheral zone, for fixing exchangeable cutters, the foot of the cutter being capable of being immobilised in a recess of a support body, (a) a minimum radial distance - form the centre of gravity of the support disc - of a recess and its side walls forms a right angle with the base surface (viewed always in cross section). (b) the cutter in bent, in known manner, in the direction of rotation and the base and side surfaces form a right angle, which the angle adjacent to the clamping jaws deviates from a right angle and forms an angle of 180 degrees with the angle of the side which is adjacent to the side of the clamping jaw, the angle of the side of which adjacent to the side wall of the recess is a right angle. The basic body of the cutter head is so shaped that all types of milling can be carried out by simple exchange or transposing of the cutter or cutter support body. Only a relatively few cutter bodies need be kept in storage. |
