Activation and revitalisation process for cutaneous and sub-cutaneous tissues utilises local electric fields. These are created by the application of supports comprising metals, at definite electric potentials, which are brought into contact with an electrolytic soln., itself in contact with the tissues. A support, in the form of an undergarment, is applied to the surface of the skin with its tissues. The garment comrpises a network of parallel wires, alternately of gold and aluminium; it can absorb the electrolyte and maintain good contact with the external surface of the skin. The electrolyte can consist of perspiration or of a conc. soln. of NaCl, stabilised by a tragacanth gel. Under the effect of the electric field, the Cl anions tend to move from the gold wire to the zone of the aluminium, the Na+ cations migrate in the reverse direction. The skin acts as an osmoti barrier and the passage of the electric charges through the cutaneous tissue is said to have a physiological effect. There is an acceleration of the nutritive exchanges of the cells of the tissues and an elimination of toxins. The penetration of lotions and creams which have previously applied to the skin is increased. |
