As in known devices, the air flows in the web travel direction from an air feed duct (6, 7) in at least one passage chamber (9, 10) along the web surface to an air flow-off duct (13, 14). In order that even dust particles firmly adhering to the web (8) can be completely removed, the edge region, lying opposite the passage chamber (9, 10), at the entrance to the air flow-off duct (13, 14) is designed as a wiper edge (15, 16).
