<p>The power drive for a conveyor consists of an electric motor (1) with a toothed coupling (17) which drives a double helical pinion (3) in the gear-box (16). Each row of teeth (3a,3b) of the pinion (3) drives a gear wheel (4,5) mounted on shafts (6,7). The shafts (6,7) carry bevel pinions (8,9) which mesh with bevel gears (10,11) mounted on shafts (12,13). The shafts (12,13) carry pinions (14,15) which mesh with the output gear (2). This arrangement of the transmission provides a compact drive with a large oil reservoir so that no external cooling is needed. The double helical pinion (3) meshing with the gears (4,5) ensures equal distribution of the load between the shafts (6,7).</p> |
