A strip fastener comprises first and second portions 11 and 15 secured to a member 12 to be joined to a similar member; the inward facing surface 16 of portion 11 carrying a member holding hooks 21, the outwardly facing surface 19 of portion 15 carrying a member holding loops 22, and a compressible sealing member 45 on the inner surface 17. The second portion of either fastening member is receivable between the first and second portions of the other member, when pressure applied normally causes interlocking of hooks and loops to provide a fluid tight seal. Interposition of an oval or circular cross section longitudinal member between compression surfaces 45, 46 causes enhancement of the coupling force. A second embodiment includes a third portion on each member, which provides, with its complement, four hook bonded surfaces. |
