Preferably the aluminium layer comprises an outer layer of corrosion resistant aluminium and an inner layer of pure aluminium, and the stainless steel layer is an austenitic stainless steel. The respective outer layers may be welded to an aluminium and stainless steel pipe forming a pipe joint.
