1480800 Mowing implement MULTINORM BV 23 Dec 1974 [28 Dec 1973] 55627/74 Heading A1F A mowing implement 1 comprises a plurality of rotary cutting members 7 journalled on a housing 3 and is connected to the lifting links 20 of tractor 19 by frame 22 in which is journalled a driving shaft 23 driven by the tractor power take-off. Auxiliary frame 24 is adapted to turn about the horizontal shaft 23 with respect to frame 22. Shaft 23 energises rope drive 26 and hence shaft 21 and bevel gear drive 15 in housing 16. The housing 3 is supported forwardly of frame 24 by being rigidly secured to a foot 68 forming a support and associated with leg 69 which can turn about the centre line 25 of frame 24 under the action of hydraulic cylinder 71 in order to adapt the mowing implement 1 to the slope of the ground level. Housing 3 has a trough-shaped bottom to which is welded at 6, or bolted, a lid 5. The housing contains driving gear 63 comprising driving gear wheels 10 attached to cutting members 7 by means of shafts 9 and coupling gear wheels 11 arranged between driving gear wheels 10, there being an even number of coupling gear wheels 11 between pairs of driving gear wheels 10. The gear wheel 10 nearest tractor 19 is driven through elastic coupling 27 and shaft 28 by the bevel drive 15 arranged inside drum 67 which surmounts the cutting member 7 nearest the tractor. Each cutting member 7 comprises a disc 36 fixed by screws 34 to a hub 35 and forming a holder to which at least one disc cutter 37 is fastened. The cutters 37 of adjacent cutting members 7 are relatively off-set by 90‹. The cutting member 7 furthest remote from the tractor also supports a drum 67 on the disc 36 and housing 3 has at each end toward the rear a stationary swath board 72. The mowing device of Figs. 6, 7 (not shown) is arranged to be attached to the front of the tractor or like vehicle wherein housing 3 is fastened at each end to a foot 68 of a leg 69. Legs 68 are suspended to auxiliary frame 24 by parallel bars (76) and lifting cylinders (75). The angle + between the mowing implement 1 and the ground is adjusted by a cylinder (77). The embodiment of Figure 8 (not shown) shows a shaft (28) journalled both at the top and at the bottom in bearing housing 16 and drum 67 operates as a coupling means between shaft (28) and the associated cutting member 7 and is connected between them through two flexible couplings. In Figure 9 (not shown) the implement 1 is also supported by a stationary tube (79) while in Figures 10 and 11 (not shown) support 68 is a round shaft connected by pivot (84) with arm (85) of the suspension means for attachment to vehicle 19.
