1481381 Master cylinder assemblies LABAVIA SGE 7 Feb 1975 [8 Feb 1974] 5353/75 Heading F2F A master-cylinder assembly for a vehicle braking system comprises a principal mastercylinder 1 operated by the brake pedal, an additional master-cylinder 13 operated by means other than the brake pedal such as release of the accelerator pedal and means for connecting the outputs of the cylinder into the brake system, the outlet of the additional master-cylinder 13 is connected solely to the principal master cylinder 1, the outlet 6 of which is connected to the braking system, the point at which the additional master cylinder is connected being so positioned that any communication between the cylinder in the direction towards the outlet orifice is cut off immediately the principal master cylinder starts to be operated. The cylinder 13 is operated by a control unit including a casing 7 divided into compartments 8, 9 by a movable partition 10 connected to a rod 11, the partition 10 being moved by the change in pressure in the inlet manifold of the engine when the accelerator pedal is released. |
