1481231 Polyphenylene ether compositions; rubber modified polystyrene compositions GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 11 Sept 1974 [1 Oct 1973] 39635/74 Headings C3R and C3P A thermoplastic moulding composition comprises (a) from 20% to 65% by weight of a polyphenylene ether resin and (b) from 35% to 80% by weight of an alkenyl aromatic resin that is modified with a rubbery interpolymer of a mixture of mono-olefins and a polyene. The composition also may include fillers and flame-retardant additives. In examples poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene) ether is blended with polystyrene modified with a terpolymer of ethylene, propylene and 5 - ethylidene - 2 -norbornene; other ingredients are triphenyl phosphate, tridecyl phosphite, polyethylene, titanium dioxide, zinc sulphide, zinc oxide, glass fibres, acicular calcium silicate, potassium titanate, tetramethyl - tetrabromo - dihydroxybiphenyl, a copolymer of bisphenol A and tetrabromobisphenol A, and hexabromobiphenyl.
