A large number of suitable phosphorohalidates and aminonitriles are specified. In the examples, 3-(methylamino) propionitrile is reacted with (1) bis-(m-trifluoromethylphenyl) phosphorochloridate, (2) bis - (2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-octafluoropentyl) phosphorochloridate, (3) bis - (2,2,3,3,4,4-heptafluorobutyl) phosphorochloridate, (4)2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7-dodecafluoroheptyl phenyl phosphorochloridate, and (5) 2,2,3,3,4,4, 5,5,6,6,7,7 - dodecafluoroheptyl - m - trifluoromethyl phenyl phosphorochloridate. The compounds are useful as hydraulic fluids.
