1458382 Granulating and drying slags HOESCH WERKE AG 7 Dec 1973 [ 13 Dec 1972 18 Aug 1973] 56841/73 Heading C7X [Also in Division B1] Water granulated slags are treated by passing the water slag mixture through a filter 3, the filter layer being formed on the perforated conical base 4 by pumping the mixture of water and slag fines exiting from 4 back into the filter via pump 8 and pipe 9. When a sufficiently thick filter layer of fine slag has been formed in the filter 3, the pump 8 is switched off outlet 17 is closed and overflow gate valve 11 is opened and the clean water is then recycled. The dried slag is then discharged via gate valve 12 and shaking trough 13 into conveyer 14. Gate valves 11, 12 are then closed and the next water granulate charge is then treated. The filter cone 3 is connected to pump apparatus 7 by pipe 6, and the fine slag water mixture is transferred to the pump 8 via exit 17 which is opened or closed by raising or lowering tube 24 by hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder 23. |
