Coatings or topcoats on substrates are produced by curing a coating composition by means of light having a wavelength of from 200 to 500 nm or electron beams having an energy of between 50 and 500 keV. The coating composition contains components A, B and E defined in Claim 1. In addition, the coating compositions can also contain pigments or fillers, further organic paint auxiliaries and photoinitiator systems. The process is particularly suitable for the production of laminated sheet-like structures, such as highly elastic finished effect films.
