The socket has its cover plate fixed in place in a simplified manner and production costs are reduced. The small cover plate (4) and the body (1) of the socket link together via a pin and slot connection. The pins are widened at their ends to a width that exceeds the width of the slots so that they overhang and hold the cover plate. This increase in width may be made by hooking the ends of the pins. The slots are set into the circumference of the cover plate whilst the pins project from the body of the socket.
