Multiple electric contact connector - uses rolled metal contact elements held in place by snap fitting cover

The multi-contact connector includes both male and female parts. The connector is of the type relying on the connector cover to hold the contact pins or sockets in their correct position. The design reduces mfr. costs by replacing machined contacts with a rolled over sheet metal form. The main body (1) of the contact holder has two rows of recesses (3) each having a shoulder (4) upon which a short wing (10) of the contact bears when the snap fitting cover (2) is in place. Each male and female contact is in the form of a simple tube cut-away to form a soldering surface and a surface (20) on which the cover presses.
