<p>A self cleaning domestic oven has a screen (21) placed near the bottom of the oven mounted on lugs so as to leave a space under it for air circulation. This space is kept at a temperature of between 400 and 475 deg.C when the rest of the oven interior is at its normal temperature for use. The height of this space is between 5 and 15 mn. The screen is of metal, e.g. a stainless steel alloy which is non oxidising and should be without nickel. Parts of this screen can be cut away to ensure a constant temperature in the space underneath, the cuts being rectangular, and flanged upwards. There may be holes through the screen, which is rectangular, and the flanges project upwards on two opposite sides. The oven walls are of sheet, enamelled inside, and the coating may be catalytic enamel.</p> |
