In forming glass fibres from an electrically heated tubular bushing operating under positive pressure, the temp. along the length of the bushing is controled by a series of individually adjustable gas cooling jets located along the length of the bushing. The amt. of cooling gas supplied to each jet is individually regulated according to the temp. along the bushing.
