<p>The spring hinge is used for attaching the side arms of a metal spectacles frame. The part (2) of the hinge fixed to the temple of the frame (1) has a hinge opening (3), while the part attached to the end of the side arms (4) is in the form of a sliding part (5) with two aligned hinge openings (6). The sliding part (5) runs along a guide rail (11) fixed to the end of the side arm (4) and acts as a hollow spring housing for the biasing spring (10), which is compressed between a stop at the end of the guide rail (11) and the end of the sliding part (5). The guide rail (11) is formed directly in the end of the metal side arm and the biasing spring (10) is pref. a concertina ribbon spring.</p> |
