Box shaped burner tube for gas heating appliances with top jet plate having adjoining rows of burner jets with nozzles above the plate level. The burner jets (2) are tubes with a diameter of 3-5 mm and height between 10 and 20 mm. The jets should be beaded (6) onto the plate or soldered to this. The jets in the rows should be offset to one another, with a perforated plate (4) placed below them in the normal way.
