Automatic winch for winding hose or cable - has drum fitted with gear rim driven by spring loaded sprocket

The automatic winch for winding cable or a hose subjected to high tension includes a drum for winding on the cable or the hose. The winch drum (9) has attached to one of its ends a ring (18,19) which has a spur gear (16) engaging a sprocket (15). The sprocket (15) is mounted on a pivoting arm (22) controlled by a spring and is kept in engagement with the spur gear (16) by a hook (28) which partly embraces the sprocket (15) shaft. The hook (28) pivots about an axis of a roller (25) which is in contact with outer surface of the ring (18,19) at the same height as the sprocket (15). The spur gear runs between the roller (125) and the sprocket (15) and the hook shaped part (28) is held in the position in which the sprocket (15) engages the spur gear (16) by a spring (30).
