<p>The re-usable steel I-sectioned girders of any size are reinforced across the girder axis, for use in scaffolding. Two or more panels (11,13) have inclined wedging faces (12) acting in conjunction, largely or completely filling the space between the I-beam flanges (17,17') up to the centre web (25). They can be detachably clamped together by the wedge action between the flanges. Slots are provided for laterally guiding the panels and for stopping them in the reinforcing position required. One panel may be several times as high as the other, and the edges have laterally projecting support flanges (23). The short section forms a compression wedging element.</p> |
