<p>The cable duct and lid can be used outdoors and may be walked over without permanent deformation or damage. The duct is U-shaped in cross section and is covered with a correspondingly shaped lid. A typical duct comprises a glass reinforced synthetic resin base (111) with sides of a composite material consisting of an inner and outer glass reinforced plastic skin (116,117) with a hard foam or similar filling (115). Sides and base are all bonded together. The lid is made entirely of the composite skin and filler construction, but may have a further layer of resin filled with fine stone chippings on its upper surface to give a non-slip covering (13).</p> |
