<p>To ensure a firm fixing of a ski to a ski-boot, it is necessary to remove any snow or ice from the ski-boot sole. This is often difficult to do if the ski becomes detached after a fall in open country when no suitable tools are available. The scraper is made of channel section metal with serrated edges. The angle is attached to a collar by a pin which passes through a slot in the channel flanges. The collar is attached to the ski-stick so that when the scraper is not in use it can be swung upward and then dropped downwards by a distance equal to the slot length. It is then loced in position against the side of the ski-stick.</p> |
