The clamping washer is used for axial holding of a screw passing through a hole in a building component. It has a central bore with projecting clamping segments whose free ends engage with the screw thread. The clamping washer has high strength against axial forces. It is very thin and the gap between the plates between which the washer is trapped remains small. The clamping segments (4) project from a non-eformed washer plane (5). They are bent to engage their free ends with the screw thread. The inner ends of the clamping segments (4) are situated on a circle whose diameter is approximately equal to the diameter of the clearance bore for the screw (2).
