Work glove with detachable palm cover - has hook and pile fabric connecting glove and replaceable covering

The protective glove (3) is provided on its inner palm face (4) with a detachable insert which is held in place by means of a hook and pile fabric e.g. 'Velcro' (RTM). One layer of the fastening fabric is attached to the palm and another to the insert. In this way when carrying out heavy duty work the insert can be readily replaced when damaged without having to use a new glove. The part of the fastener attached to the glove can cover the whole palm face, just the edges or can be applied in strips. The insert can also be made of a suitable material to provide a reinforcement for the palm.
