A press roller (2) is mounted rotatably inside a ring (1) of the press. The press roller (2) of hollow construction is provided with radially extending cutouts (4). The pressed articles pass through these cutouts (4) through the ring (1) to the outside and through the wall of the hollow press roller (2) into the interior (5) thereof. Due to the long drawing-in path of the pressed product, it is deaerated to a great extent and processed in the press gap (3) to form pressed articles with an optimally low proportion of air. <IMAGE>
