<p>Prodn. of perfluoroalkanesulphonamidoamines (I) of the formula: (in which X is Rf-SO2; Rf is 1-18C, pref. 4C or 8C perfluoroalkyl, R, R' and R" independently are H or 1-8C alkyl; n = 2-8, pref. 2 or 3 and p = 1-10, pref. 2-5; is p = 1, R' is H) comprises reacting amines (II) of the above formula (in which X is H) with perfluoroalkanesulphonyl fluorides (III) of the formula Rf-SO2F in equimolar amts. in the presence of an aprotic solvent (IV). Pref. (IV) is dioxan, toluene, MeCN, DMF, DMSO, di-2-4C alkyl ether, CCl4, CHCl3, CH2Cl2, C2Cl4 or C2HCl3. Reaction pref. takes place in the presence of a tert. organic amine (V), pref. NEt3, pyridine or 1-methylimidazole. (I) are used for making textiles, paper and solid surfaces oleophilic, as surfactants, e-g. dispersants, emulsifiers, emulsifying aids or wetting agents, or as intermediates for these. The process eliminates the difficulty in recovering (I) and the need to operate under anhydrous conditions.</p> |
