In the sepn. or extn. of digestive materials from animal manure or waste by sepG. a manure/water slurry into solid and liq. fractions, the solid fraction consisting of a silo feed-type mixt. of undigested fibres and granules, (a) a significant proportion of the insoluble minerals and indigestible cellulose particles is sepd. or extracted from the liq. fraction and (b) a certain amount of the water in the liq. fraction so produced is evaporated off to produce a concn. liquid fraction contg. considerable amts. of soluble and insoluble nutrients. The process is more efficient and gives a protein feed supplement of higher nutritional value than the known processes, brought about by operating with reduced amts. of water. |
