Dry coke quenching extractor - with swivelling tray for water seal facilitates inspection and repair

An extractor device for dry coke quenching plant includes, below the coke bunker, a feed proportioning section with a discharge funnel. A tray which can be filled by a liq. is hinged in such a way that it seals the funnel when in the closed position and can be swung open for the discharge. The liq. seal prevents the egress of hot gases so that the units of the extractor can be inspected and service regularly without having to remove all coke from the quenching bunker. This improves the service life of the quenching chamber and the coke quenching efficiency.
