The bucket wheel is for an excavator, and rotates about a shaft on an excavator outrigger. It has an interior three-phase synchronous electric drive motor. The motor rotor engages via a reduction gear with a gear rim, positioned around the bucket wheel shaft. The drive motor has a low RPM. - The rotor (10) engages around the bucket wheel shaft (1), on which it is retained, and around the stator (9). The rotor carries the gear ring (14) which has internal teeth meshing with intermediate gearing (11) and a crown wheel (13).
