<p>1480126 Waste water treating apparatus PARCA-NORRAHAMMAR AB 12 Feb 1975 [14 Feb 1974] 5909/75 Heading B1C Apparatus for treating waste water comprises a shell 5 with inlets for air and water at one end and an outlet 28 at the other, and discs 14, 15 having alternate central 19 and peripheral 20 openings so that the air and water take a sinuous course through the shell and the surfaces of the discs are alternately exposed to air and water whereby a biological fuzz is built up in them. As shown the shell 5 is a drum rotating with the discs but it may be stationary. Air is introduced by a pump 32 and water by a pump or by entry through openings 27 when they are immersed. It is thence conducted to the centre of the drum by one or more spiral surfaces 24 and enters through opening 19, surplus water returning to the basin through an outlet 29. The level in the drum is determined by the size of the outlet 28. The discs may have parallel straight corrugations and be assembled with the corrugations mutually inclined to provide a diamond-pattern of generally radial channels 16 between them (see Figs 4 and 5, not shown). In another arrangement (see Fig. 6, not shown) the discs 14, 15 may be separated by discs (37) having both central and peripheral openings. The apparatus may be supported by a float (12, Fig. I not shown) on the surface of the waste water.</p> |
