1480245 Internally illuminated traffic bollards CLAUDGEN Ltd 23 May 1975 [7 June 1974] 25417/74 Heading F4R [Also in Division E1] In an internally-illuminated traffic bollard wherein a base 7 is securable, as by screws 10, to a hollow shell 2-3 which is preferably a one-piece moulding of translucent plastics, the lamps 12 are supported on a longitudinal member 13 pivoted to a transverse member 14 which seats on an internal shoulder in the shell 2-3, whereby the lamp support structure 13- 14 can be pivotally collapsed and passed through the open end of the shell 2-3. A plug and socket connection 18-20 is protected by a panel 19 and flap 23. The upstanding base portion 8 corresponds in shape (e.g. square or hexagonal) to the crosssection of the shell 2-3 so that after a collision the shell may be turned (e.g. through 90‹) and re-fixed. In a modification, Fig. 7 (not shown) the shell has slots (9), rather than holes, for the fixing screws (10) and is clamped by a metal strip (25). The metal strip may also be used to repair torn-out holes. |
