1480362 Selective printing PITNEY-BOWES Inc 6 Nov 1974 [8 Nov 1973] 48029/74 Heading B6F A disc carrying print heads 10 attached to the ends of flexible arms 16 radiating from a hub (15, Fig. 3, 4 (not shown), is characterized by the arms 16 being of a flexible material and the heads 10 of a harder, more durable material. The disc (15) is fabricated by moulding the disc (15) with arms 16 and moulding an annulus 9 carrying heads 10. The heads 10 and the arms 16 are connected by means of extensions 14 and apertures 17. The arms 16 may be of acetal homopolymer, acetal copolymer or polypropylene. The head 10 may be of polysulphone, urea-based resin, nylon, epoxy-based resin, phenolic resin or melamine. The heads and arms may be pre-heated before fitting together or after fitting. Heating may be by the use of ultrasonics. The heads may be plated with metal. |
