1480558 Partial electro-plating apparatus SIEMENS AG 11 Dec 1975 [20 Dec 1974] 50762/75 Heading C7B Apparatus for the partial electro-plating e.g. with gold of a plurality of workpieces, e.g. two-row pin strips 1 received in holder 7 provided with contact bar 8, in continuous transit therethrough comprises means for transporting the workpieces at constant level along a path, e.g. suspended from transport carriages 2 guided on rail 6 by rollers 4, 5; at least one electro-plating bath 12 located along the path, the end-walls 123 of the bath having transit slots 127 therein; means for recycling bath, plating, liquid 14 escaping through the slots e.g. into overflow chambers 125, 126, defined by additional end-walls 124, and via drains 15, 16, into reservoir 17, to the bath e.g. via suction line 18, including a circulating pump 19, the delivery line 20 of which is connected to the bath, e.g. via discharge opening 22 terminating inside hollow rib 21 attached to the bath floor 121; and a plurality of baffle plates 23, 24 located in the bath to provide a serpentine cross-flow of circulating liquid. Preferably the baffle plates are perpendicular to the path, in two rows offset centrally to one another and with an interval therebetween in a row of 50 to 300 mm; their height preferably corresponds at least to the liquid level, wherein the baffle plates are provided with openings 231, 241 for passage therethrough of the workpieces; and they are spaced from the bath side walls 122 for location of anodes 25 suspended from rods 26. |
