1480457 Fire-retardant antistatic polymer compositions LABOFINA SA 9 July 1975 [12 July 1974] 28930/75 Heading C3P A composition consisting essentially of (1) a styrene resin (2) a fire-retardant agent selected from halogenated and/or phosphorous containing fire-retardants (3) 0À2 to 8% by weight, based on the weight of the styrene resin of a nitrogen-containing compound selected from aliphatic amines, amides and ammonium compounds, and mixtures thereof. The aliphatic nitrogen-containing compound preferably contains a straight-chain radical of 8 to 25 carbon atoms. The compositions may also comprise antimonytrioxide. The amines and amides may contain oxyalkylene groups and preferred are lauric acid diethanolamide, ethoxylated cetylamine and perlargonic acid triisopropanolamide. In the examples, the compositions are polystyrene; antimonytrioxide; component (2) is 1, 3 decabromodiphenyl, (2) perchloropentacyclododecane, (4) decabromodiphenylether; component (3) is 1, (2), (4) lauric acid diethanolamide, 3(A) lauric acid monoisopropanolamide, 3(B) pelargonic acid triisopropanolamide, 3(C) ethoxylated cetylamine (which contains two ethoxy groups), 3(D) N-(3-n-dodecyloxy-2- hydroxypropyl)ethanolamine, 3(E) (3-laurylamidopropyl) - trimethylammonium - methylsulphate. |
