Bullet proof bank counter window - has composite plastics and metal trough structure below window to absorb bullet energy

The bank counter service window has armoured glass plating above the exchange trough. The trough prevents firing through it and ricochet of the bullets. The trough has ramps on the customer and the servicing side. The bottom of the trough is made from fibre reinforced plastics resting on plastics foam material with a bullet proof insert. The fibre reinforced material (9) is adhesively bonded on the foam plastics (6b). This is separated by a metal plate (7) from a lower foam plastics layer (6a). The side walls (5a) of the insert (3) a are made from sheet metal. These walls are overlapped by the reinforced plastics layer (9). Any bullets shot at the trough lose energy on hitting the trough.
