A steering rod for a motor vehicle is made by forming a diametral slot 2 at one end of a tube 1 and the tube portions on each side of the slot, for at least part of their length, flattened and arranged substantially parallel to form a pair of yoke legs. A ball joint or silent block 5 is secured by a bolt 4 in the yoke, and a spigot 8 of a ball joint 7 is screwed into the other end of the tube 1. |
