The standard lamp used especially for garden illumination has a tubular stand which is held in the ground. The lamp socket is sealed from below and the underground cable passes through the stand and the seal. The bulb is enclosed by a transparent, sealed bowl. This bowl is held on top of the vertical tube by a screw thread and the joint is sealed by a ring. The screw thread in the bowl lever, open end is held in the inwardly pressed bulges in the tube upper end. The bulb socket is held in a plate which covers the tube bore and the plate is held in the bore by its cylindrical rim. This plate has sealed penetration for the power cable. This lighting fitting is readily opened by servicing yet it is sealed against rain water. |
