Rod-type fuel element is handled by a fuelling grab which engages the fuel element collar by balls housed in recesses in the grab and engaging in a groove in the collar. A further ring of balls axially displaced relative to the first set locks the fuel element collar to the fuel channel wall and a slide ensures that the balls of one set can only disengage when those of the other set have engaged. |
