Mobile irrigation assembly comprises a reel (5) on which a flexible hose (6) can be wound by means of a crank (10) via a transmission (7). The assembly is carried on a frame (1) on three or four wheels (2,3) of which one or two are swivel wheels (3), and is provided with a fixed handle (4) to steer it. The arrangement is such that the hose can be wound in using one hand so that the entire assembly is pulled along the hose, whilst the other hand operates the handle to ensure the hose winds up in layers with the windings side by side over the full width of the reel.
