The blow moulded water header tank (20) is for use in a dish washer with an ionic exchanger water softener. The tank is of slender cellular vertical panel form to minimise the space occupied in the washing well. A mains water inlet pipe (24), a deflector plate (33), a gravity outlet (34), an overflow pipe (35), and an atomiser (42) for a separate salt feed (19) may all be built into the tank unit. There are two separate water feeds to the washing well. The primary feed leads (24) to the header tank (23), and gravitates (34) from the header tank via the ionic exchanger. The secondary feed passes through an atomiser (42) and a salt capsule on route to the exchanger.
