The optical system can focus a beam of radiated energy from a primary source (101) at a point (P2) of an object (111). It comprises a simple single lens (102) which is movable and which forms a mobile point (P1) of radiant energy of minimal dimensions. This point forms a secondary source of radiant energy for a projection system (105, 106, 107), thus enabling the image of the secondary source to be formed on the object. The projection system has a fixed conveyance. Since the beam from the primary source is parallel and monochromatic, and arrives at the lens parallel to its axis the lens is constructed so that it corrects spherical aberation for its principal focus. The projection system comprises a field lens (103) which reduces the divergence of the incident beam from the secondary source (P1), a mobile mirror (106) which deflects the beam afer it has passed through the field lens (103) and an objective (107) which focusses the deflected beam onto a point (P2) of an object (111). The transverse magnification of the projection system is 20 or more.
|
