<p>The oxidn. device consists of a vertical rotating shaft fitted at its lower end with a hub and a disc this has an elliptical surface, directed upwards with the shape of an inverted mushroom. Openings are provided for the passage of water and each opening has a bent elbow. Two rows of blades are fixed in the lower face of the body of the disc and co-operate with the bent elbows. The effect is to scatter the water into a number of clusters of jets the water is pulverises and the contact surfaces between the molecules of the water and the molecules of the air increased. The parabolic trajectory of the jets increases the contact time and improves the degree of oxidn. of the effluent. The device allows the water to absorb the max. amt. of oxygen and so improves the activated sludge process whilst shortening the treatment time.</p> |
