<p>Flexible traction line, e.g. cable of chain, hs one end connected to the skin and the other end to a powdered pulling device e.g. winch or hydraulic cylinder. The pulling device is mounted on a carriage which can move, along a limited path parallel to the carcass conveyor chain. As stripping takes place, the angle of the traction line to the longitudinal axis of the suspended carcass is (a) different from 90 degrees as the skin is stripped from collar and shoulders. and (b) is kept at about 90 degrees as the flanks and back are stripped. There is no need to stop carcass conveyor to carry out stripping and angle of traction line automatically adjusted to facilitate clean stripping.</p> |
