<p>The side window (2) of a tractor cab incorporates a snap action fastening device which operates so that the window can be securely held in a fully closed position, or opened by a preset amount. The window tilts about an upper horizontal axis. The device is a flat spring (14) secured between a horizontal handle (7) across the window about half way up, and the window sill. The spring carries a sleeve (15) each end to fit round a pin (11) across a mounting bracket, forming a hinge top and bottom. When closed, the bend in the spring holds the window firmly, and when open, the spring continues to retain the window resiliently.</p> |
