<p>The positive-displacement pump is for handling viscous liquids, being of the lobed-rotor or gear type. It has an automatic centering system, using self-lubrication by the liquid handled of the supporting portions of the driving and driven shafts. A circuit is formed in the end flanges by a passage between a point in the pump pressure chamber and one discharging into a recess of flattened cylindrical section whose diameter is at least equal to that of the shaft. The effect is to give a dynamic and continuous supply of the shafts by pulsating liquid, the pulses corresponding to when the lobes or teeth pass into the fully-engaged position at the tooth roots. The life of the pump is also increased.</p> |
