The equipment grips components between two members moving in relation to each other, particularly when subjecting them to a series of machining operations. A reserve chamber for the hydraulic fluid, with outlet, port, is formed between the two faces (10, 12), which are movable in relation to each other, of the primary piston. At the end of the release movement this chamber is under pressure, and is connected, by the return stroke of the piston, to the cylinder containing the active fluid, which is then at minimum pressure. During the clamping operation, this latter cylinder moves the moving jaw (4) towards the fixed one (1).
