The rotary engine has two parallel shafts supporting two meshing rotors which function as a compressor. Air is drawn in through the port and is delivered alternately through the ports as the rotors rotate in the directions of the arrows. The rotors are provided with teeth which mesh as the rotors rotate and form an effective seal to prevent leakage from the outlet ports to the inlet. The compressed air flows into an adjoining section of the casing and is supplied with fuel. A second pair of similar rotors mounted on the same shafts are driven by the expansion of the ignited fuel air mixture.
