The fixing assembly is used for the tubular heating element of an electric iron. It consists of U-shaped brackets (2) distributed along the element and welded or soldered to the hot base plate of the iron. The brackets curve over at the ends of their arms to wrap around the element. They may also be l-shaped and they are arranged one on each side of the element with their ends bent over to hold the element down onto the baseplate. The advantage lies in avoiding fractures in the brackets.
